TryHackMe.com is a great place to learn the ins and outs of exploitation tools and how they work.

Like Sun Tzu said ““If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.” and getting to know about the tools of the trade and how they are used against you (at least with a basic understanding) will be a great way to have an understanding of “the enemy”. I personally have found their Nmap course very helpful (and also a bit scary when I used this website and its server as a victim).
